Path of Exile Item Upgrades
The performance of many Path of Exile items can be enhanced by upgrading the performance of them. They can be a fantastic source of damage and more AD or even more affixes.
Rare-grade equipment is usually superior to upgraded Common or Magic equipment due to their higher requirements.
Armor
Armor upgrades are a type of upgrade that can be applied to armor and weapon items. They boost the performance of the item they are connected to. Upgrades to armor are available in the game's world and can be purchased from Blacksmiths at any bonfire. Alternatively, item upgrade Cases.gg can also be rescued from items with upgrade components in them with a professional or higher salvage kit.
The level of an armor's or weapon's upgrade determines the amount of damage it is able to take on. The ability to absorb damage of an armor piece will increase as it is upgraded to its maximum upgrade level. However, it's important be aware that this upgrade will increase its weight, causing it to weigh more than before.
There are many different kinds of armor upgrades that are available in the game. Each one has a distinct effect. For instance, some upgrades will give the armor a certain number of health points while others make it lighter and stronger. The kind of armor upgrade an item will receive will be indicated by the name of the upgrade as illustrated in the table below.
Some of the upgrades are also magical or a combination of technology and magic which is indicated by a "Magic" or "Hybrid" entry in the table below. Certain upgrades also require fees for use. These are identified as "Charges" entries in the table. The charges for these upgrades are updated daily or never expire, according to the upgrade.
Iron Ore is the cheapest method to upgrade your armor. It can be found by exploring and looting small loot chests. Titanium is more costly, however, it is available at the smelters in Orgrimmar and Stormwind City. Certain upgrades, such as the Reforge and the Hot Potato Books, can only be applied to higher level armor pieces. These upgrades can provide a significant boost to stats and are a worthwhile investment, especially for 1-handed weapons.
Upgrading a piece of armor to the highest upgrade level will greatly boost its defense, but the player should be aware that putting on weight will dramatically reduce its agility and speed. This is why it is not recommended to upgrade the majority of armor pieces above +9, because the increase in defense is typically not worth the extra weight and power cost of the upgrades required.
Weapons
Weapon upgrades give players the ability to improve certain aspects of their weapon. For instance an upgrade can enhance the damage caused by shotgun shells or the accuracy of the sniper rifle. Certain weapons also come with enhancements that enhance their intrinsic characteristics. Frictionless materials (improves stability, reduces the risk of the risk of overheating), and Kinetic coils (increases the projectile's acceleration for greater damage) are two examples.
Most upgrades for weapons require three Power Dices, a different amount of Minerals and Erons and a whetblade to apply. These can be gained by completing Side Quests or killing a certain amount of bosses and monsters.
Upgrades to a weapon, equipment Set piece or Whetblade requires visiting the NPC [Armor] Boboko in Central Flarine and paying her an upgrade price that is based on a specific number of Bars. The higher the upgrade level, the more bars are required to complete it. The cost of upgrading will be lower if you have more than one of the upgrade materials.
In Chapter 2: Season 5, the way you upgrade your weapon and equipment sets changed a little. Prior to Chapter 2 Season 5, you could upgrade your weapon or equipment by paying a specific amount of Bars. You could do this until the weapon or equipment reached its maximum upgrade level at which point the upgrades would be reset.
It's possible, but it relies heavily on RNG. You should consider buying equipment with low upgrade levels but with high base scores and stat distributions. These gears have a higher likelihood of granting you highest tier blessings and perks.
Most players will want to make the most of upgrades to weapons they are most likely to use to help them level up quicker. Additionally, players should consider upgrading the weapons favored by their teammates to increase their power and effective. Shepard for instance should upgrade his M92F so that he can unlock the Beretta M93R. This will make the weapon more useful when used in conjunction by biotic specialists like Grunt and Tali.
Jewels
Jewels are utilized in the armor's sockets and weapons, increasing the power of a character and bringing about secondary effects. Jewelry crafting is a method for making them, where you combine gemstones with specific reagents on a jewelry table. The higher the tier of the gem has, the more powerful its secondary effect. These reagents can be obtained around the world through Treasure Goblins, World Bosses and, sometimes, by salvaging Legendary gear. You can also purchase them from The Jeweler for gold and a Scattered Prism.
The Jeweler can enhance the quality of the gem in stages that range from Crude up to Royal. Based on the level of the jewel it will give different stat boosts when it is inserted into weapons, equipment and jewelry.
The Jeweler is able to create all kinds of gems, with the exception of rare and legendary ones, which you must attain an appropriate level to obtain. Jewels can be substituted with another jewel without destroying the original. However, you can only replace one jewel in an equipment piece only once.
The use of more jewels in a move can make it feel more comfortable, and is often done to enhance the aesthetics of the movement. In addition to improving performance, the jewels create an outer layer that is more durable than metal, so repeated friction from pivots won't cause harm as easily.
In addition to the above-mentioned upgrades, the player can also obtain glyphs for their shields and weapons from a Glyphmaster. These provide a small bonus and can be swapped freely however they aren't guaranteed to drop as loot. Glyphs can be upgraded, like jewelry, at the Jeweler for gold, and also a Scattered Crystal. Glyphs are also removed and returned to the inventory. Other upgrade components like aegis or traits cannot be exchanged, and can only be found through an upgrade extractor or salvaging using the Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage tool.
Trinkets
Trinkets are items of equipment that offer many tiny but valuable benefits to your hero. They can be acquired starting in the areas of starting as loot, personal story rewards, from vendors, and by doing road interactions. They can be found on the Trading Post, or crafted by jewelers.

The first trinkets that a player unlocks will be the cloak, which gives an unimportant but beneficial boost to movement speed and evasion. The player can then acquire rings, amulets and necklaces in a similar fashion to how they acquired weapons and armor. Each piece of equipment comes with an upgrade slot that can be either universal or jewel. Universal upgrades are smaller and are able to be used on any piece of equipment. Jewels are not upgradeable or replaced and are only compatible with certain trinkets.
These trinkets can provide additional bonuses and abilities that are active even when the hero isn't engaged in combat. This lets a hero be more efficient while inactive. It can also compensate for the absence of excellent team or talent tree slots that are normally filled by the hero's best stats.
As a rule trinket upgrades should be a priority BiS (Best in Slot) items that you aren't likely to replace soon. Next, any items with desirable stats that aren't as significant as the iLevel for the item that is to be upgraded. This is especially true if you are looking to upgrade multiple stats on an item. It's better to upgrade one important stat rather than two suboptimal ones.
Jungle players usually upgrade their yellow trinket to a red trinket at the start of the game. Top and mid players on the other hand will pick either a pink or green ward, depending on the matchup. These choices can impact the hero's ability to manage the map.
In addition to the items mentioned above, players will find other trinkets in the form trophies and rewards throughout the game. They can be earned through completing certain milestones in the story, like completing a chapter's main quest or killing a certain boss. You can view them by selecting the achievement in the reward section of the hero's menu.
